Auli is in Chamoli district in the Himalayan mountains of Uttarakhand, India. 

Auli is a hiking and ski destination and after the creation of the state of Uttarakhand, formerly part of Uttar Pradesh, Auli was marketed as a tourist destination. It is surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, with a panoramic view of the peaks of the Himalayas.

Auli can be visited throughout the year to enjoy the beauty of snow in the lap of the Himalayas.

Also, there are many religious destinations scattered around Auli. It is believed that Shankracharya had blessed Auli with his visit.

The best season to visit Auli is all throughout the year. The Main Tourist attraction in Auli is Snow Skiing and is best from November to March.

Air: 

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, about 270 kilometers (170 mi) from Auli. Which is well connected to the other parts of India. 

Rail: 

The nearest railway station to Auli is the Haridwar railway station which is situated 273 km away from Auli. 

Dehradun and Rishikesh railway stations are also considered as the nearest railway heads to Auli. From Haridwar, you can hire a taxi to Auli. 

Road: 

Joshimath is well-connected from the major cities of Uttarakhand such as Dehradun, Rishikesh, and Haridwar. Buses are also available from Delhi to Joshimath.
